Moraine Lake, Alberta, Canada
Much more beautiful than Lake Louise, this lake is smaller and the colour of the water is unbelievable. The lake is glacier-fed (which is why the water is turquoise) and surrounded by mountains.
We took canoes out on the water and went across the lake to hang out. I was visiting my cousin here who was working at Moraine Lake Lodge so the canoes were free and I also got to stay in staff accommodations in Lake Louise. It was fun experiencing the mountains the way the locals do.

Champoussin, Switzerland
Our entire stay in the Swiss Alps was very hazy…white-out conditions for the most of it. At points it was hard to see our own feet, let alone find eachother in the never-ending whiteness. We managed to not lose each other, but the two of us got lost many times. Perfect snow conditions, a world-famous ski destination, and a cozy chalet made the trip amazing. However, next time I am going to pray for those blue bird skies.

Lokrum Island, Croatia
This is me cliff juming on Lokrum Island, just a short boat ride from Dubrovnik, Croatia. The island has no inhabitants, it is purely for vacationers to enjoy the warm water in the summer and swim along the coves. The boats to Lokrum Island leave every hour during peak seasons, and the farther you get from shore, they better view you get of the fortress walls surrounding the old city of Dubrovnik.

Crete Island, Greece
In May of 2008, a friend and I hiked the Samaria Gorge located on the island of Crete. The bus ride took an hour from Chania to get to the top of the gorge which cuts through the Lefka Ori (white mountains). It was a six-hour downward hike, with a couple of stops for sight-seeing and taking a lunch break. Finally after the 16km hike was over, we ended up at the small beach village of Agia Roumeli where we were happy to find a taverna to have a pint of Greek beer.

British Columbia, Canada
Really cool cloud? Think again! I took this photo flying over British Columbia in early August while on out-of-control forest fires broke out across BC and Alberta. Thick white smoke rose above the clouds forming these large billowy “clouds”.

Cappadocia, Turkey
I visited this Flintstone-like place in the central region of Turkey in May 2008, where for ages people have made their homes by carving into the sedimentary rock so they can keep cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We stayed in one of those a carved-out hotels in Goreme.
